through a general cash gift to one of our many worthy funds. These donations
help us respond immediately to priorities of our hospital and also allow us to
utilize the money in the areas of greatest need.
Each donation has a direct impact on Rapid City Regional Hospital, allowing us
to provide state-of-the-art care to every patient we are privilege to serve. As

Cash
A gift of cash in the form of cash, checks, or credit card, is
the simplest and most immediate way people contribute to Rapid
City Regional Hospital Foundation. Cash gifts may also by
pledged over a number of years.
Matching Gifts
Many employers have matching gift programs through which
your generosity to Rapid City Regional Hospital Foundation
can be multiplied. Check with your human resources office
to see if your company offers matching gifts to nonprofit
agencies.
Memorial/Tribute Gifts
What better way to honor a loved one and support the Rapid
City Regional Hospital Foundation than through a gift in
that person's name? A commemorative gift can be made to
any program or campaign of the Foundation "in memory of"
or "in honor of" any individual. Your gift is a caring
expression for someone who has been very special to you. In
honoring this special person's memory, you are helping our
hospitals continue a tradition of excellent, compassionate
care for every patient we are privileged to serve.
Notification is sent to the honoree or to the family, in
the case of a memorial gift. The amount of your gift will
not be mentioned.

Bequests
For many donors, a gift through their will is the
best way to make a substantial contribution to
the hospital. Anyone with assets can make a
bequest. If you have included Rapid City Regional
Hospital Foundation in your will, please let us
know so that we may properly acknowledge you.
However, if you wish, your information will be
kept in strict confidence.
Charitable Lead Trusts
Donors wanting to transfer wealth to another
genration can establish a lead trust. In this
instance, the hospital could enjoy a stream of
income to help meet immediate needs and, after
a period of time, the donor's heirs receive the
assets. This method of giving also helps to reduce
taxes on the donor's estate.
Charitable Remainder Trust
A donor creates a trust funding it with cash or
appreciated property. Income from the trust is paid
to beneficiary(s) specified by the donor.
Beneficiary(s) receive income for life or for
a specified number of years, and at the end of
the trust term the assets of the trust pass to
the Foundation.

Where Your Money Goes
Philanthropic support of Rapid City Regional Hospital
Foundation is greatly appreciated. Donors may designate
their gift for a particular department or purpose or to
the area of greatest need. 100% of the donated gifts
benefit the area for which they were designated, and
donations are tax-deductible.
Thanks to the generosity of its donors in 2004, Rapid
City Regional Hospital raised over $600,000 for Rapid
City Regional Hospital. The following chart illustrates

Hospital is the Donor Appreciation Area. This area
serves as a tribute to those who have generously
given their time, talents, and money to Rapid City
Regional Hospital. The names on the walls recognize
individuals, foundations, businesses, and organizations
that have influenced the growth and development of RCRH.

Distinguished Benefactors represent lifetime
