Foundation
The Rapid City Regional Hospital Foundation acquires and administers charitable
gifts for the benefit of Rapid City Regional Hospital. The Foundation is governed
by a board of directors in the medical
and business communities.
All donated funds are dispensed to RCRH according to the donor wishes,
whether it is annual, memorial, capital, trust or bequest gifts or income
from endowments. The Foundation raises funds to purchase state-of-the-art
equipment, enhance facilities, and develop special programs to help RCRH
remain in the forefront of medical care. The Foundation's planned giving
and donor programs have allowed the facility to continue to expand and
enhance its medical capabilities, bringing an ever-increasing quality of
health care to our communities. Rapid City Regional Hospital is recognized
by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3).
Our Mission
The mission of the Rapid City Regional Hospital Foundation springs from the
mission of the hospital it serves. The Foundation generates financial support
to carry out Rapid City Regional Hospital's mission:
To provide and support health care excellence in partnership with the communities we serve.

Dear Neighbor:
As you know, the mission of Rapid City Regional
Hospital is "to provide and support healthcare excellence in partnership with
the community...". Your generosity enables us to realize this mission and serve
many of our neighbors who have a limited capacity to meet the expense of health
care.
Candidly, our ability to maintain a positive
bottom-line from operations has become more challenging in recent years. Your
continued philanthropic support will ensure the future of the delivery of
quality health care throughout the region. Consistent with addressing the
health care needs of the region.
On behalf of the Foundation Board, the Hospital
Board of Trustees, Medical Staff and our employees, we extend our sincere
appreciation for your gifts to your community hospital.
Sincerely,
Bruce

Rapid City Regional Hospital
Our mission is to provide and support health care excellence in partnership with the communities we serve.
Rapid City Regional Hospital is a not-for-profit regional medical center
operated in trust for the community and region by a 13-member Board of
Trustees, who represent the local communities. Licensed for 310 acute-care and
56 psychiatric beds Accredited by two preeminent organizations who are
recognized for establishing standards that govern the delivery of quality
health care services: the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care
Organizations and the Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation
Facilities.
In the early 1970s spiraling costs and new developments in medical technology
cast doubt on the feasibility of maintaining two hospitals (Saint John's
McNamara and Bennett-Clarkson) in Rapid City. A seven-member Hospital Action
Committee was formed to explore the possibility of merging the two hospitals.
Officially incorporated on July 1, 1973, Rapid City Regional Hospital began
with 80 physicians on the Medical Staff and 280 licensed beds.
Regional Hospital's roots can be traced to a foundation based on communication,
cooperation, and collaboration to be a not-for-profit entity. Any surplus in
revenue has been and is continually used to fund the development of programs
and services to meet the health care needs of the community and region.
Values we believe in...
Quality/High Standards of Performance
Striving to continually exceed the expectations of every patient and customer
in regard to service, effort and professional standards.
